I'm already looking forward to the clocks changing in a couple of weeks so I can start going to the office in the dark again.

The working machine is not network connected so I load Audacity onto a thumb drive, thence onto the computer, plug everything in, and test the setup with a different casette to make sure things are working.

They are!

I press play on the tape deck, record on the computer, and 14 minutes later, I've got my songs!

They aren't very good. One isn't too bad, and I actually quite like the bass line I put together for another one.But I've heard them for the first time in thirty years.

Anyone tried lactofermenting nettles? Seems like it should work ...

Yesterday I zipped through Jonas Jonassons 'The Distinctly Competent District Councillor.' It was sweet and I quite enjoyed it.

Today I start Charlie Stross's 'The Regicide Report,' which I do not expect to be sweet.

I continue to read comics. This time it's the first six issues of Mike Grell's 'Starslayer.'

Another small handful of jelly ears today, the tree just keeps giving. There's another tree in the garden that feels like it should have jelly ears but doesn't. So I stuck a small one in a crack. Will it take? No idea ...

Thanks to the Tories, our research institute is shifting to a US Thunderdome-style funding model. Which sucks. This means there are some redundancies coming. Which also sucks.

People are being warned a year in advance that their jobs may be going away. Which sucks less than being uncertain or just being let go with no warning.

Join a Union.
